Additive manufacturing has generated a paradigm shift in the design and manufacturing of efficient structural parts in a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, biomedical, and energy. Mechanical properties of 3D printed polymeric parts highly depend on the processing conditions and the materials used. The recent advances in filament materials technology have enabled new opportunities to produce high strength, damage tolerant, and environmentally friendly components. This seminar will provide an overview of the recent advances in the field with an emphasis on research conducted in METU Nanomechanics Laboratory.
