METU Nanomechanics Laboratory officially opened on October 5th, 2018, upon the completion of renovations and equipment installations.
Nanomechanics Laboratory aims to investigate the mechanical properties of new generation structural materials through advanced nano- and micro-scale characterization techniques and to develop new generation materials with improved properties for engineering applications. Initial research activities of Nanomechanics Laboratory started in 2016, and the laboratory obtained a new infrastructure in 2018 through renovations done by METU. Nanomechanics Laboratory currently conducts a wide range of research activities through three TÜBİTAK, two METU-BAP and one industry collaboration project. Three MS and two PhD students continue their thesis studies as part of these projects.
